    Agasthyakoodam is also known as agasthyamalai. Agasthyakoodam is 32km from Neyyar Dam and 29 km from Bonacaud near Ponmudi.This is the second largest peak in kerala. Agastyarkudam, The mountain gets its name from the legend and the Sage Agastyar who meditated from this peak, where a small temple stands in remembrance and devotion to this great saint.

     

     

    Kallar

    KallarKallu means ‘stone’ and Aru means ‘river’,hence the name Kallar. The river is well known for its abundance of attractive, round-shaped boulders and pebbles, especially in the upper reaches and middle portion of its course. Kallar is a tributary river of Neyyar river flowing through the Indian states of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. It passes through Vellore district in Tamilnadu.In kallar situated a office of Kerala Eco-Tourisum Forest Department. The Ecotourism concept uses the locals as guides & for other facilities, thus providing some much needed jobs to the locals also.At Kallar,The main attractions are the nearby Golden Valley .the Golden Valley is easily accessible form the main road. Here one can take a dip in the crystal clear waters to cool off, and also watch the many rapids and small pools that dot a good part of the river in this area.

     

     

    Peppara WildLife Sanctuary

    The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is spread over an area of 53 sq. km. on the Western Ghats and was established in 1938.The sanctuary has a rich population of mammalian fauna and is emerging as a big attraction to wildlife enthusiasts and ornithologists. Asian elephant, sambar, leopard, lion-tailed macaque, can be seen here. Birdlife includes the endemics like Malabar Grey Hornbill, Whitebellied Treepie, Small Sunbird, etc.

     

     

    Meenmutty Falls

    Meenmutty_FallsMeenmutty Falls is another attraction of this region. Located at a distance of about 3 km from the Kallar Main Road.You need to pay the entry fee and then park inside. Then there is a 2KM trek to reach the Meenmutty falls. There are many bathing spots along the way.  Trekkers have to trek through dense forests to reach the falls. Visiting the falls requires prior permission from the forest department. A guide accompanies visitors. The Kombaikani Waterfalls is located near Meenmutty waterfall.
