Thekkady is situated in Idukki district in Kerala.Thekkady is also called Periyar .Thekkady is located about 170 km from Cochin (5Hrs Journey), 110km to Munnar and 140 km away from Alleppey.The route is the combination of normal roads as well as Hills.The famous ‘periyar wildlife sanctuary is located here.Major attraction is boating, where boat will take you around the wildlife sanctuary through periyar lake.

KTDC Lake palace, KTDC Aranya nivas and KTDC Periyar house.The enterence of periyar reserve will be closed after 05 PM.

Once you finished the boating, leave from Tiger Reserve.Extra activities are waiting for you.Before going for evening shows like cultural shows,magical shows, musical fountain etc.
you can go for an elephant ride.You can go for an Ayurvedic massage from any of the massage centers at Thekkady. Don’t forget to purchase some spices and home made chocolates before you leave Thekkady.
Bamboo rafting can be booked at Eco tourism center in advance.Advance booking can be done by calling Eco tourism center, Thekkady at 04869 224571 and payment should be made in advance.
